A Simple "thank you"

Do you say thank you?  I don't mean when someone passes the salt at dinner, or when you drop your keys and someone picks them up.  I mean a REAL honest "THANK YOU".  I know that each and everyone of us have been taught from an early age that it is always polite to say those magic 2 words when needed.  My children may be monsters at home, but in public I am always told how polite they are.  Thats what you want as parents to know that you have created a child that will go on in this world spreading kindness and grace...
BUT, are you really giving people the gratitude they deserve?  I take a look back at my 30 years on this earth and think of the previous generations.  My husbands Gram is a very special lady to me.  She is 84 years young and everyday she teaches me something new.  She has taught me at the ripe old age of 30, that I am not thankful enough for the people around me.  In her time it was expected that you took time out to send a thank you note, or stop by with something baked when someone did you a favor.  If you got stuck in your driveway and the neighbor helped dig you out, they got a warm pie the next day!  If you were given a gift for your new baby, you sent a hand written note.
It seems like it is a no brainer...this should just be done...right?
Well how many times have you had someone do something for you, and just expect it?  Like when mom stopped over to watch the kids for a minute so you can take a shower or run to the store.  Or when a friend hands you down some clothes because their child had grown out of them too quickly.  Or when someone offers to pick you up something for lunch because you are just too busy to stop working...
I know in most cases you would always say those 2 magic words, but do we show our gratitude?  Do we expect too much for too little in return?

I know for me, I have gotten to a place in my life that I have things that make me very happy... my kids, husband, some of my family(lol), my work, and my friends.  I know that everything in this world will come to and end someday and that I want to take advantage of each moment I have with all of them.  The first thing I plan to do is to try to remember to always "show" how much I am grateful as much as I say it.

She is a professional makeup artist to the stars and shares her tips with the world.

Kim Kardashian Makeup- using cheap products!

My first blog!!!!

Hey dolls!
This is my first blog for Glam On Location!  I will be keeping everyone up to date on what events I am doing and some of the cool things I am up to.  I am super excited to begin this experiance and share with everyone all the fun things I get to do.
I am going to start this blog with introducing myself to everyone and letting them know more about why I love what I do SO MUCH!
For starters, I am 30!  wow!  lol I have 3 children, they are 3,4, and 9.  My husband and I have been married 10 years which blows my mind.  I am going to post my message from my website below.  Please keep coming back for more updates.  I promise they will get better!  I plan on updating with demos, before and after pics and lots of cool reviews!  Down the road I plan to do some give-a-ways for some of my favorite products...

It has always been a passion of mine to take a blank canvas and make it amazing.  I love to work on a virgin face making it over adding lashes, adding some color, and watching the clients face as they are overwhelmed with how beautiful they look.  It is the most rewarding job on the planet!  Who else gets to be a real life fairy godmother and transform Cinderella for her ball?
I have been in this industry since 1997.  I started as basic as it gets in a local cosmetology school.  While in school I was at the top of my class scoring the president’s award two years running.  I won a trip to Syracuse to represent my school in a state competition senior year.
When I graduated and started working in salons, I knew that I would never be happy working in a “chain” situation and needed to be in control of my future.  I began working in a salon/spa doing hair and loved what I did.  I would work on clients for weddings, proms, or events and found that it was something I really loved.  After a few years I knew that my passion was working with brides and the bridal party.  Then one day during a trial run at the salon; a bride said that she really wished she could relax at home on her wedding day with her family instead of spending the entire morning at the salon.  I thought “what a great idea that is!”
I started going on location and providing my services to brides in the comfort of their own homes or wherever they were getting ready.  After a year of doing this I decided that I would like to further my training and have since been trained in full cosmetic makeup artistry in addition to my hair experience.
My first love is hair!  It is why I got into the business in the first place.  I love to do an intricate up do, or a swept away simple curled look. I get inspiration from actresses and singers at award shows.  Some of my favorite trend setters are Kim Kardashian, Jessica Simpson, and Carrie Underwood.  They have such a range of beauty from glamorous to simple splendor.
My favorite invention (next to my i-phone) is my Temptu Pro airbrush machine.  I can use my airbrush to create a photo finish on each client.  Along with airbrush I use several different brands of cosmetics on my clients.  I like to cocktail different products to create a unique look on every client.  My goal for every wedding is for the bride to step away from my chair blown away with the look I created for them.
I am flattered that you have taken the time to read about me and my passion.  I would love to hear from you to help plan the perfect bridal package for your wedding day or event.
